Job description:

  • Carries out activities to contribute to the delivery of an effective humanitarian response. The jobholder contributes to assessments, monitoring and evaluations of projects, as well as to the analysis of the humanitarian context in the area of coverage.
  • Drafts reports on the humanitarian situation, including any political, economic and security events relevant to the analysis of the humanitarian situation in the country/region.
  • Contribute to the advocacy strategy of the office and plays an active role in developing advocacy products (Map, statistics, infographics…)
  • Ensure the management of the ECHO Colombia project database and ECHO online project management tool
  • Travel is required (both domestic and international).

Minimum requirements:

Education: A relevant first level university degree or equivalent professional experience.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience at national or international level in supporting programmes/ project operations, including 2 years of experience with an NGO, donor, or national/ international organisation
  • Proven record of excellent management of infographics software (ex: power BI, ArcGIS, BatchGEO, Maptive…)
  • Significant reporting and database management experience
  • Good understanding of Humanitarian Aid principles, policies and Standards
  • Good knowledge of international NGOs, UN Aid agencies and Red Cross Movement
  • Good knowledge of Colombia’s humanitarian context & situation.
  • Excellent command of Office Software package (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Internet explorer, Outlook)
  • Excellent communication and writing skills with the ability to analyze data.

Languages: Excellent command of English and Spanish (oral and written). French will be an asset.

This position is open to nationals and other residents of Colombia with valid work and residence permits. The contract is initially for one year with the possibility of renewal subject to a 2 months’ probationary period. DG ECHO applies a policy of equal opportunities. As an indication, the monthly basic salary is on average approximately COP 7 953 899 which corresponds to 5 years relevant work experience. The salary will be adapted according to the exact duration of relevant provisional experience supported by a work certificate i.e. with 10 years of work experience the basic salary could be COP 8.370.912. In addition to this, the employee will also receive an allowance as a complement for disability/retirement.

Contracts will be ruled under the Colombian´s labour legislation.
